Burberry-licious! A Lipcote Lipstick Review

Lipcote Rating: 5 / 5

Happy New Year! To start 2013 with a Burberry-licious bang, and to banish those January blues, we’ve got another lippie here with a 5 star rating from us! And that’s no mean feat…

Burberry’s newest lipstick offering are the Lip Velvets, and they’re just as sumptuous as the name sounds! We chose Bright Poppy, as it’s the shade that the gorgeous Cara Delevingne wears in the campaign. It’s a deep fuchsia-tinted plum, which varies in different lights. In dark lighting it’s a vampy blackened berry shade, but in sunlight or bright light the fuchsia tones are much more apparent and it appears multi-dimensional. We must say, the texture of this lippie really is the standout feature for us – it truly is just like velvet, which we reckon is why there’s such depth to the colour – and it’s comfortable and smooth to wear, with full pigmentation in one swipe. The scent is the same as other Burberry lippies; quite perfumed but it dies down after a while. And the packaging, as usual, is luxurious with a touch of the heritage Burberry print, even on the lipstick itself.

This is a definite winner for our first lipstick of the New Year, and it’s set a precedent that will be hard to follow! As always, one lucky fan will win it plus a bottle of Lipcote, so head over to our Facebook page to enter.

Love, Lipcote x
