Flapper Fabulous! A Lipcote Lipstick Review

November 4, 2015

Brand Name: Tom Ford Lip Colour

Colour: Crimson Noir

Price: £36

Lipcote Rating: 5 / 5

Tom Ford is one of the ultimate luxury beauty brands, and as we’re celebrating the release of Baz Luhrmann’s The Great Gatsby this week, what better way to represent all the glitz and glamour of the 1920’s than with such a fabulous brand?!

Crimson Noir is a deep pinky-red, and not for the faint-hearted! Its undertones are cool, and the formula is so smooth and creamy that you feel like you could be applying a luxurious lip butter. It has a satin finish and is very hydrating, but once blotted, although it gets rid of some of the surface moisture, it still retains its lovely radiance, which we’ve noticed is a feature of all the Tom Ford lipsticks. The edge of the lipstick bullet is nice and sharp which lends itself perfectly to precise application – very important with such a bold shade as this, and even more so if you’re going for a flapper’s cupids-bow lip shape! The packaging is typical Tom Ford – luxurious, sophisticated and expensive feeling, in a weighty black, enamelled, squared tube with gold edging – and seriously makes you feel like you could be Daisy Buchanan applying your lippie in 1925 in preparation for one of Gatsby’s great parties!

All in all we have to say that Tom Ford is onto another winner with this lippie, and we’d even go as far as to suggest that you can never own too many Tom Ford reds! For your chance to win it, plus some more gorgeous Great Gatsby-themed goodies, enter via the Competitions App on our Facebook page!
