Fuchsia Shock! A Lipcote Lipstick Review

November 4, 2015

Brand Name: Too Faced La Crème Lipstick

Colour: Fuchsia Shock

Price: £18

Lipcote Rating: 3.8 / 5

Too Faced was created by Hollywood makeup artist Jerrod Blandino along with his business partner Jeremy Johnson, when Jerrod felt he wanted to launch an artistic makeup brand, rather than a brand for makeup artists. With gorgeous vintage-inspired packaging and brilliant shades, we just had to try it out…

We chose the La Crème lipstick in Fuchsia Shock, and the name speaks for itself! It’s a bright fuchsia cream with no shimmer or frost, and it’s a shade made for having fun! The formula is very buttery, and it applies with a slightly glossy finish, so it’s best to blot it before applying Lipcote. We think blotting also gives it a cooler look, as it makes it much more matte, which looks less Barbie and more catwalk! We love the scent – it’s unusual for a lipstick and smells sweet and lemony, a bit like lemon cake – and the gorgeous packaging won us over too with a printed vintage-y box and a fabulous gold tube for the lippie. As this colour makes such an impact, we’d let it speak for itself and pair it with dewy skin and a slick of black mascara for definition.

Overall we’re impressed! As you probably know now, we’re updating our competitions, so this isn’t available to win this week, but if you keep a look out you’ll see it included in a bumper beauty giveaway with loads of other goodies when our new competition format arrives!

Love, Lipcote x
