Now that the sun has firmly got his hat on (sort of), festival season is well and truly underway which means that a lot of us will be looking for ways to really stand out amongst the crowds. Whether you’re partying in a field miles away from home, have escaped overseas to a beach party or staying close enough to get a taxi home- your look needs to last from dawn ‘til dusk.

Last weekend we decided that our favourite East London salon –The Painted Lady, would be the perfect setting to treat three festival mad beauty and style bloggers – Jaide Poppy, Jess Morgans and Luisa Christie, to some A-lister pampering before they headed out to all the fun! Pros at colouring, cutting and styling, The Painted Lady team are experts when it comes to hair braiding, so we had to firstly treat Jaide, Jess and Poppy to some unique plaits and twists.
Glitter is showing no signs of hiding away this summer (woohoo!), so we hunted down the most dazzling, eye-popping kind we could and mixed it in with The Painted Lady’s own stash. Jaide_Ralph is obsessed with all things sparkly so set up her own business creating her own bespoke pots, and as you can see below, faces were adorned with her beautiful designs. What we love is the range of textures and colours she offers, to really let you experiment on both face and hair. We’re especially a fan of sprinkling your favourite colour on to the roots or parting of braids, disguising any unwashed hair after a few days of no showers or to simply mix up your look. Traditional henna decorations also covered the girls’ hands, which will last well into the next week!

To top it all off, we couldn’t let the ladies leave without a very special Mi-Pac festival kit bag from their latest collection to keep all of their essentials in as well as some extra glitter, Lipcote & Browcote, plus some vouchers from the salon itself so they could come back for more treatments.

Licote & Co’s 3 steps to festival fever:

  1. Even simple hair braids will keep your hair looking fresh and stress free
  2. We all know glitter can be added anywhere, but a touch of Browcote can be used to help seal larger gems on the face and Lipcote will keep glitter lips and lipstick in check for hours
  3. Take a Mi-Pac rucksack or bumbag, which is light enough to hold all of your essentials and leaving you to dance hands free!

Check out what looks they both ended up with below. Share your own festival looks and remember to hashtag #Lipcote and #Browcote for a chance to be featured on our socials! X
