Grande Diva! A Lipcote Lipstick Review

November 4, 2015

Brand Name: Dior Diorific Grande Bal Lipstick

Colour: Diva

Price: £25

Lipcote Rating: 5 / 5

The Grande Bal collection by Dior is their 2012 Holiday range and was inspired by the opulence and lavishness of the Parisian balls of the 18th century. With this in mind, and the knowledge that this lippie is in DJ Nikki Beatnik’s makeup bag, we simply couldn’t resist trying it out…

We chose the shade Diva, the brightest red out of the four Grande Bal colours. It’s a true red with a slightly cool undertone, and suits a multitude of skin colours as it’s a classic pillar-box shade. It glides effortlessly onto lips, almost like a balm, and the finish is satin-matte. The fragrance is typical Dior – a powdery, floral sweet scent which takes us back to the days of trying on makeup as a child – but that’s part of Dior’s charm; the luxury of bygone eras. Worn with Lipcote, this lasted us a full night of Christmas partying, not to mention more than a few sips of champagne! We’d recommend teaming it with a sophisticated metallic eye – think gold and bronze but not too dark – with lashings of black mascara, dewy skin and matching red nails. And finally the packaging is the usual gold, unashamedly extravagant tube with the Christian Dior logo etched into the ball at the base.

If you couldn’t already tell, we’re smitten with this lipstick! And we’re extra excited to be able to give it away to one of our fans along with a limited edition DJ Nikki Beatnik bag to celebrate her FashBash Christmas party tonight! So as usual, look out for it in our lipstick giveaway over on our Facebook page.

And as this is our last review of 2012, here’s wishing you all a very merry Christmas and a wonderful New Year! See you in 2013!

Love, Lipcote x
