Lovely Lolabird! A Lipcote Lipstick Review

November 5, 2015

Brand Name: Aerin The Mini Lipstick

Colour: Lolabird

Price: £24

Lipcote Rating: 4 / 5

We’ve reviewed a Mini Lipstick from Aerin before, and loved the totally luxury feel about it, but this shade caught our eye as one we just had to try…

Lolabird is a bright magenta pink, almost fuchsia but slightly deeper. It has blue undertones so is perfect for making teeth look brighter, and it takes on different hues in different lights – outside in the sun it’s bold, bright and totally summery, but inside or when it’s cloudy it has a deeper, almost violet element to it, which makes it look more intense and vampy. Strangely, it contains micro-shimmers, almost invisible but there nonetheless, of a blue-purple colour. Most of the time these don’t matter and give it a pleasant kind of lit-from-within glow, but up close when we were applying it they looked slightly strange, like the frosted lipsticks we used to buy back in the 90’s when we didn’t know better! The lipstick is really well pigmented, and seems to have a satin-matte finish; definitely less creamy than the last one we tried but still lovely and hydrating. And because of the versatility of this shade it looks equally fabulous dressed down with a no-makeup look, jeans and a white tee, or dressed up with fluttery lashes and a little dress for a night out!

All in all this is another winner from Aerin, and a welcome new addition to our ever-expanding collection of pinks! As usual, to win this lipstick plus a Lipcote, enter via the Competitions App on our Facebook page!
