Price: £20.50

Lipcote Rating: 5 / 5

MAC’s Making Pretty was their holiday collection for Christmas 2012, and we just couldn’t resist the gorgeous packaging and fabulous shade! We’ve saved this one ‘til now for a Spring-time treat…

Runaway Red is a blue toned red, slightly darker than a true red but not dark enough to be berry. It has a satin finish, which is pleasantly creamy, not at all drying, and imparts a soft sheen when applied, making it ultra flattering. It’s fantastically pigmented (as we’ve come to expect from MAC) so we’d say the perfect easy application is apply one layer, blot, apply the next layer, blot again and then sweep over your Lipcote, let it dry, and you’re good to go! It has the signature vanilla scent, and being what MAC class as a couture release, it actually contains quite a bit more product – 0.15oz – as opposed to the standard lipsticks, which contain 0.10oz. The packaging is some of our favourite ever from MAC! It’s a rose gold metal tube, partly covered by pale pink faux shagreen, and the box it comes in has the same design. It feels luxury, high end and simply gorgeous, and just for the packaging alone it’s a welcome addition to our dressing table!

Overall we’re absolutely in love with this limited edition lippie! The shade and quality are typical MAC, but the glamorous packaging just tips it over the edge for us, into perfection territory! So for your chance to win it, plus a bottle of Lipcote, enter via our competitions app on our Facebook page… and good luck!
