Kate Moss’ previous range of lipsticks for Rimmel is one of our favourite celeb-makeup collaborations, so when we found out about the matte collection we just had to test it out…

We chose the shade 107, a deep burgundy-red. It really is the perfect autumn shade – rich, sophisticated and mysteriously dark (hmm – sounds like the perfect man too)! It’s quite a purple toned red, and described by many as red wine, although we’d say it’s not got the brown tones in it that more wine-y shades can have. It’s also the colour Kate wears in the ad campaign. The texture is smooth and easy to apply, and it has a velvet-matte finish, similar to lipsticks that are four times the price! It’s really well pigmented so with one layer you’re left with the perfect amount of colour, but we also love it dabbed and pressed into lips with a finger to give a gorgeous, berry stain without the drama of full-on lipstick. The scent is sweet and floral; nothing offensive, but we must say that we prefer vanilla or fruity scents in lip products, as floral can often feel quite old fashioned. With Lipcote, this lippie gave us hours of luxurious colour, and the matte finish kept it looking chic and modern.

We can’t see a day in at least the next 2 weeks where we’re not going to wear this lippie, and that’s saying something! So hats off to Queen Kate – she’s done it again! And as usual you can win it, plus a bottle of Lipcote, if you look out for our lipstick giveaway over on our Facebook page.

Good luck!

Love, Lipcote x
