Dainty Doll is the brainchild of Girls Aloud’s Nicola Roberts, who set-up the brand after feeling like she wanted to embrace her fair skin tone but didn’t know where to start in the current beauty market. Fast forward a little while and they not only produce face makeup for fair girls, but also have colour cosmetics to suit every skin tone!

We decided to test this lipstick in the shade It’s My Party, a bright punchy pink. We’d describe it as a warm fuchsia, as it’s bold and deep but too bright to be classed as berry. The texture is very smooth, and it’s intensely pigmented which means great colour pay-off in just one layer. The finish is matte-satin so it feels velvety-soft on our lips, and it’s enriched with moisturising ingredients to prevent dryness without making the formula at all greasy. With no scent that we could detect, it can smell slightly waxy, but that’s not a problem for us if we love the colour and formula, which we do! And lastly, the packaging is cute and playful – a smooth black tube with the brand logo in gold on the side, and the Dainty Doll illustration on the box it comes in, which adds a quirkiness that you don’t always find with lipsticks of this high quality.

All in all we’re impressed with this lipstick, and pleased that something from a celebrity range could meet our high expectations! And as usual, don’t forget to look out for it in our lipstick giveaway over on our Facebook page!

Good luck!

Love, Lipcote x
