Aerin Lauder is granddaughter of the great Estee Lauder, and one of the heirs to the iconic beauty brand. She is Style and Image Director at Estee Lauder, and the Aerin range with its sleek gold packaging and understated elegance was just too tempting for us not to try!

We chose the shade Pout, a mauve pinky-nude. It’s one of those lipsticks which beauty bloggers tend to call YLBB, or ‘your lips but better’ – it’s a very natural colour, but just a little bit pinker, a little bit livelier, and a little bit more polished than bare lips. It works well with natural day-time makeup, which it should as it’s from the Day Time collection from her Autumn range, but it looks just as good with a smoky eye, to use as a nude lip, without blanking out your mouth completely! The texture is smooth and creamy, and it’s hydrating but not greasy, although you’ll still want to give it a little blot before applying Lipcote, as it’s not the most matte formula. It’s lightly fragranced with rose, the signature scent for the range, which gives it a gentle, classic feel. The packaging is luxurious and chic – smooth, gold casing with Aerin embossed subtly on the side – and it looks pretty gorgeous on our dressing table!

Although this isn’t the most unique shade in the grand lipstick scheme of things, it’s a pretty good nude. Plus it’s a great one for those days when you want to look understated but not actually barefaced! As always you can win it, plus a bottle of Lipcote, if you look out for our lipstick giveaway over on our Facebook page.

Good luck!

Love, Lipcote x
