Rouge de Rihanna? A Lipcote Lipstick Review

November 4, 2015

Brand Name: Giorgio Armani Rouge d’Armani

Colour: Rouge 401

Price: £25

Lipcote Rating: 4.9 / 5

This lipstick, apparently made famous by Rihanna, is one of Armani Beauty’s best-known lippies, coveted by beauty bloggers, celebs, and now us…

Shade 401 is rumoured to be the bold tomato-red that Rihanna favours, and we can see why! The colour is intensely saturated, with very warm undertones, so it’s quite an orange red. It’s highly pigmented so there’s only need for one swipe to get full colour pay-off, and the smooth formula clings to your lips for almost fool-proof application. The edges of the bullet are angular and sharp, which means that although we’d normally recommend using a lip brush to apply such a bold colour, there’s really no need as you can get a precise edge straight from the stick. We’d say this shade of red is universally flattering – it warms up the skin and draws attention to the mouth in a punchy, pop-art manner, and it looks polished as well as cool and edgy! The finish is velvet matte – the perfect texture for this colour to keep it looking modern – and the packaging is a weighty, glossy black tube with a magnetic closure that clicks nicely as it shuts!

This is one of our favourite finds in a long time, and will be earning its place in our lipstick stash over the coming party season! To win it, plus a bottle of Lipcote, don’t forget to look out for it in our lipstick giveaway over on our Facebook page!

Good luck!

Love, Lipcote x
