Seductive Smoke…A Lipcote Lipstick Review!

November 5, 2015

Lipcote Rating: 4/5

Tom Ford lipsticks are our favourite go-to for ultimate luxury, and the heavy black and gold Art Deco packaging never fails to make us coo with delight and sigh at how gorgeous it is.

We decided this week to go for a nude in the range, as the nude trend for SS14 continues to build. This shade, Sable Smoke has quite an orange-y tone to it, which is also on trend this season, but may get lost in a paler complexion so is best suited to more yellow toned or darker skin to make an impact.

According to Tom Ford ‘there is no more dramatic accessory than a perfect lip’, and we couldn’t agree more! This particular nude will not make a huge statement as the effect is supposed to be subtly alluring, but still feels like a pure shot of colour in one layer and with minimal blotting remains highly pigmented.

At such a steep price point you’d expect the ingredients to be extremely efficient, and the Brazilian murumuru butter along with chamomila flower oil definitely keeps lips blissfully hydrated. The bullet itself is embossed with the classic TF logo, and has a sharp nib for precision. It’s a shame for such a high price point that the bullet is quite small, but along with Lipcote this lipstick will last. This is a true treat of a lipstick, it feels like one you will only pull out for special occasions and isn’t necessarily made for everyday wear. Our desire for Tom Ford’s lipsticks has not been dampened, and we still think this is another classic from the range! X
