Lime Crime is a relatively new brand created in 2008 as a fun makeup range for young women. All of their products are cruelty free and most are even vegan, and with all their inviting colours, we just had to try them out…

We tested the Velvetine lip colour in Suedeberry. It’s a bright orange-red coral, and they weren’t lying when they named it Velvetine! It comes in a tube much like a lip gloss, and applies as a very richly pigmented, almost watery formula, from a doe-foot sponge applicator (also like a gloss) but give it a minute, and it dries down to a gorgeously smooth, velvety-vintage finish. One layer is enough to get full colour pay-off, although if you let it dry and then apply another layer you really intensify the brightness and bring out the bold shade. The matte finish is truly gorgeous, and it gives a rich glow to lips, much like velvet does for the skin – which is the reason why the fabric used to be kept especially for kings and queens to wear! Plus once on, with a slick of Lipcote, it lasted through a whole day of wear, including rather a lot of perspiring in this heatwave!

Overall we love this lippie, and will definitely be trying out other shades in the range asap! As usual, to win this lipstick plus a Lipcote, enter via the Competitions App on our Facebook page!
